how it works

Restorative Yoga is a practice of deep relaxation. The body is fully supported by the use of props, such as bolsters, blocks, sandbags, and blankets. The asanas (poses) hold the body in ease, allowing for full release and softening of the muscles and surrounding body tissues.  

This offering involves the use of gentle, supportive touch and occasional hands-on assists. The practice of using touch is approached softly and always with respect for the client’s autonomy and level of comfort. Prior experience in yoga is not necessary.

The practice of Restorative Yoga actives the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for body functions such as digestion, healing and sleep cycle regulation. It helps to ease muscle tension, emotional tension, and low mood. It may also help to reduce bodily discomfort, disturbed sleep patterns, and mind chatter.
