In the long run…

we shape our lives &
we shape ourselves.

About Me

amber bergman, lmhc, ryt-300 (she/her)

From a very young age, I have had a love for helping and connecting with others. I believe that human connection is the life breath of our society. It is the foundation upon which all other experiences are built. Understanding how our connections impact us is essential in our quest for belonging, love, productivity, success and transformation.

Along the path of our life’s journey, we inevitably fall out of connection with others, and at times ourselves. It can be hard and scary to find our way back to ourselves; to find the light in the dark. It is in these darkest moments that we must remember—we are not alone. All we need is the courage to reach out and the willingness to keep going until the light returns once again.

My Credentials

I have been a practicing psychotherapist and mental health professional for over 20 years. It is a high honor to witness another’s transformation, and I am deeply grateful to have been called to do this work. I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling and Consultation, an Advanced Certificate in Community Mental Health, and am licensed in the state of New York to offer mental health therapy to humans of all ages. I am also a registered Yoga Teacher, trained in Hatha Yoga and Restorative Yoga Therapeutics.

My Approach

My work with clients is offered through a holistic, trauma-informed, person-centered perspective. A strong belief in the client’s own self-knowing guides this work. I partner with the client on their transformation journey. Nervous system health and awareness of self are areas of focus that are always woven into my sessions. This may be offered through talk therapy or through gentle movement of the physical body.

Mindfulness-based strategies and somatic therapy techniques may be offered to further assist the client in understanding the connection of their physical body, to their emotional body, and their thoughts. Together, we discover any obstacles, worn out beliefs or behaviors that are no longer in our best interest; or feelings or thoughts that may be ready to come to the surface and be released. We begin to create space for new beliefs and behaviors, fresh goals, and a path for beginning again.

It is through the building of a compassionate and trusting connection that change and growth often emerge. I look forward to helping you find your way back to yourself so that you may live the fullest, brightest life that was meant for you!
